Deanna Nguyen, M.D., is Senior Vice President of Clinical Development. Most recently, she worked as Vice President of Clinical Development at Prometheus Biosciences, Inc., where she oversaw the development program for inflammatory bowel disease with a precision medicine approach. Previously, she served as the clinical lead on several development programs for intestinal diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease, as a Medical Director and, ultimately, Senior Medical Director of Clinical Development, at Theravance Biopharma, Inc. Concurrently, she has also volunteered as a gastroenterologist in the inflammatory bowel disease clinic at the San Francisco Veterans Association hospital as an Assistant Professor Volunteer at the University of California, San Francisco. Prior to industry, she was on faculty as Instructor and, subsequently, Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and physician-scientist at Massachusetts General Hospital in the Crohn's & Colitis Center after completion of her B.S. in biochemistry at Harvard College; M.D. degree at Harvard Medical School; and internal medicine, gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease subspecialty, and post-doctoral immunology training at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital.
